STEM
Currently only about 16% of high school graduates decide STEM field as their major. Since the demand for STEM related field will exponentially grow in the near future, STEM related fields must be promoted more and publicized to increase interest. Our school shows students variety of programs then teaches related concepts and techniques to assist students to further increase passion for STEM education. Also the majors once previously considered gender specific have crossed the gender boundaries by changing learning methods and problem solving abilities and consider cultivating amalgamative perspectives and revitalizing economy.

Teaching Methodologies
The Teaching Method of KCIS is a result of many years of research with combined preaching and teaching experience and implemented through experiments. It is also a result of studies conducted based on group dynamics and brainstorming approaches. Education at KCIS is carried out with professional teaching with self- exploration and research as fundamental principles.



READING
Students learn to assigned classic reading books according to grade and level, complete book reviews after reading, and the book reviews are evaluated and graded by teachers

CRITICAL READING
Students read articles and solve problems according to the critical reading assigned form at, including all the necessary materials such as news articles, and reports, Answers are evaluated and scored by teachers.

MONTHLY ESSAY
Students write an essay once a month following the assigned format. This essay will be evaluated graded according to performance.
What is STEM?
STEM education is the acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This convergence education is a new approach to the existing teaching method by adding practical activity.
Vision
The vision of the school is that all KCIS students, in regards to the field of STEM, are trained to develop critical minds through problems and projects to apply scientific and engineering problem solving methods to the modern competitive global world. KCIS provides a comprehensive program with focus on math, science, technology. Essential skills and values included in the curriculum emphasizes and enhance the critical analysis & research, problem solving ability, intellectual curiosity and social responsibility. KCIS STEM Education combines science, engineering practices, Core disciplinary ideas, and crosscutting concepts to teach students(G1-12) scientific concepts more effectively.

This program fosters ability to connect the dimensions of abstract and reality of technology by utilizing variety of soft-wares. 3D Printing
3D 프린팅(3-Dimensional Printing)은 전 산업분야로 확대되어있는 기술로 컴퓨터에 입력된 설계 데이터에 따라 종이나 플라스틱 액체 등의 원료를 한 층씩 적층해서 3차원의 물체를 만들어내는 기술입니다.

STEM with Robotics
STEM with Robotics 커리큘럼은 학생들이 컴퓨터 프로그래밍, 공학과 수학의 개념을 습득하여 로봇을 통해 문제해결 방법을 구성할 수 있도록 유도하는 창의, 융합 교과과정입니다.
교육내용
- Robotics 커리큘럼은 iCarnegie Global Learning, Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy, Robomatter 등의 전문 연구진들이 개발한 다양한 Program Environment와 통합되어있습니다.
- 학생들은 가상현실(Robot Virtual World)을 적용한 로봇 시뮬레이션과 프로그래밍을 통해 현시대가 요구하는 스킬들을 개발 할 수 있습니다.
- 다양한 하드웨어와 소프트웨어들을 다루며 실제로 로봇을 조립해 조작해보는 체험학습을 통해 문제해결능력을 길러줍니다.

경제도 항공우주산업이 주도해 나갈 것이라는 것을 오늘날 의 군사/경제 강국들이 예외없이 항공우주선진국이라는 사실이 이를 입증하고 있습니다. 그러므로 더 큰 비전과 계획을 세우고 준비해서 항공우주 분야의 무한한 꿈을 보여주고, 진로와 방향을 제시하여 주어야 할 것입니다.
Drone
드론이란 무선전파를 이용해 비행하도록 만든 비행기나 헬리콥터 형체를 한 무인항공기를 가리킵니다.
처음에 군대에서 공군기와 미사일 연습사격 등에 사용되기 시작하여 무선기술이 발달함에 따라 적진을
정찰, 감시하는 데에도 사용되었습니다. 최근에는 군사용 뿐만 아니라 다양한 용도로 다양한 크기와
성능을 가지 드론이 많이 개발되어 촬영이나 배달, 공기질 측정 다양한 방면에서 사용되고 있으며
취미활동으로 이용하는 사람들도 늘어나고 있습니다. 국내에서는 한국항공우주산업(KAI)과 대한항공이 드론의 연구 개발을 저극적으로 하고 있습니다.

STEM with Class VR
VR은 실제와 유사하지만 실제가 아닌 인공 환경을 의미합니다. 따라서 넓은 의미로 보면 게임과 같은 시각매체 역시 가상현실로 포함될 수 있습니다. 하지만 일반적으로 가상현실이라 하면 단순히 가상의 공간을 구현하는 것을 넘어서서 사용자의 오감에 직접적으로 작용하여 실제에 근접한 시.공간의 체험을 가능하게 하는 기술을 의미합니다.
교육내용
본 프로그램은 학생들이 VR기기를 통해 현실의 공간은 아니지만 마치 실제로 그 공간으로 혹은 그 시간으로 돌아간 것처럼 시각적인 효과를 통해 지각을 깨우도록 도와줍니다. 그러므로 선체험으로 교육의 효과를 높일 수 있다는 장점이 있습니다.
